Kouvelas earns second-straight PAC weekly honor

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster freshman Vasilis Kouvelas (Anthem, Ariz., Boulder Creek) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon.

This is Kouvelas' second-straight PAC weekly honor. He has been named PAC Newcomer of the Week twice this season (Sept. 7, Sept. 21).

Kouvelas helped Westminster to a 1-0-1 week, allowing just two goals while making 16 saves in 180 minutes played. In a 2-1 victory at Allegheny Wednesday, he made five saves on six shots faced. In a 1-1 draw with Franciscan Saturday, Kouvelas posted a career-high 11 saves on 12 shots on goal.

Kouvelas leads the PAC in saves (51) and save percentage (.850), ranks second in saves per game (5.67) and is third in goals-against average (1.00).
