Four players score in 7-1 victory at Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va.--The Westminster women's soccer team cruised to a 7-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over Bethany Friday evening at Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium. 

Westminster upped its record this season to 5-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in league play. Friday was Westminster's 14th-straight win over Bethany.

Westminster took a 4-0 lead into halftime. Freshman Madeline Barr (Grove City, Pa., Grove City) scored off an assist from junior Brooke Galcik (Saxonburg, Pa., Knoch) in the fourth minute before freshman Amelia Brose (Houston, Pa., Chartiers-Houston) netted her first of the match in the 15th minute. The goal was Barr's second of the year. The assist was Galcik's first this season. Freshman Kennedy Kuntz (Oakdale, Pa., Chartiers Valley) fired in back-to-back goals 59 seconds apart (31:45, 32:44). Freshman Natalie Evangelista (Glenshaw, Pa., Shaler) assisted on Kuntz's first. The goals were Kuntz's first of her collegiate career. 

Freshman Quinn Arnold (Coraopolis, Pa., Moon) opened the second half with back-to-back goals 53 seconds apart (47:18, 48:11). Brose assisted on Arnold's first. The goals were Arnold's first and second of her career.

Brose closed out Westminster's scoring with her second of the match in the 50th minute. Friday's goals were here third and fourth of the season. Brose had the game-winner in Tuesday's 1-0 win over Thiel. 

Bethany scored its lone goal of the match in the 89th minute. 

Senior Emily Codere (Shelton, Conn., Shelton) worked the first 53 minutes of the match to secure the win. She made a pair of saves. Senior Ashley Vith (McKees Rocks, Pa., Montour) and sophomore Kylie Terhaar (Haymarket, Va., Battlefield) split the remaining 37 minutes in net. 

Westminster had a 22-8 advantage in shots and a 15-3 edge in shots on goal. The Titans had nine corner kicks to three for the Bison. 

Up next:
Westminster will travel to Meadville, Pa. Wednesday to take on Allegheny. The match is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 p.m. on the Robertson Blue Turf.
