Gecina named PAC Defensive Player of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa.--Westminster junior Brooke Gecina (Aurora, Ohio, Aurora) was recognized as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women 's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon.

This is Gecina's first time being honored as the league's defensive player of the week. She was named the PAC's Newcomer of the Week twice during the 2024 season.

Gecina totaled 105 digs (7.00/s) and added five service aces at last weekend's Penn State Behrend Invitational. She finished with 31 digs in a 3-1 win over Utica Friday night before totaling 34 digs in a four-set victory over Fredonia State Saturday morning. Gecina has posted 30 or more digs in a match seven times in her career.

Gecina's 6.13 digs per set average leads the PAC.
