Women's tennis picked seventh in PAC preseason coaches' poll

TRAFFORD, Pa.--The Westminster women's tennis program was picked to finish seventh in this year's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll. This year's preseason coaches' poll, voted on by the conference's 10 head coaches, was announced with the PAC's Players to Watch List Tuesday afternoon. 

Led by second-year head coach Mike Blasko, Westminster received 31 points in this year's poll. Last year Westminster finished with an 3-9 overall record and went 2-6 in the PAC.

Allegheny, winners of two-straight PAC Championships, claimed first place on this year's coaches' poll with 73 points and nine first-place votes. Grove City followed in second with 65 points and the final first-place vote while Franciscan was third with 52 points.

The Titans have three players included on this year's Players to Watch List: senior Emma Overlingas (Pittsburgh, Pa., Baldwin), sophomore Megan Blasko (Mercer, Pa., Pennsylvania Cyber Charter) and freshman Amayah Myricks (Canton, Ohio, Jackson).

Overlingas finished the 2025 season with a No. 2 singles record of 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the PAC and a No. 2 doubles record of 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the PAC. Overlingas was an Honorable Mention All-PAC selection at No. 4 singles and No. 2 doubles 2024.. She was named Second Team All-PAC at No. 5 singles in 2023. Blasko concluded the 2025 season with a No. 3 singles record of 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the PAC and a No. 1 doubles record of 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the PAC.

Westminster will get its season underway at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Penn State Behrend. The Titans are scheduled to begin PAC play on Saturday, Sept. 12 at Grove City, with doubles matches beginning at 12 p.m. Westminster's home schedule starts Wednesday, Sept. 16 hosting Saint Vincent at 4 p.m. The league's regular season is scheduled to conclude on Friday, Oct. 16 with the six-team PAC Championship Tournament scheduled to get underway Tuesday, Oct. 20.
