Five earn Academic All-District® honors

GREENWOOD, Ind.--Five members of the Westminster baseball program were recognized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District® honors Tuesday afternoon.

Rising seniors Jon Albers (Corry, Pa., Corry)Nate Demchak (Monroeville, Pa., Gateway)Parker Lyons (Rochester, Pa., Rochester) and Quinn Marquis (Hinckley, Ohio, Highland), along with rising junior Tom Rook (Clarence Center, N.Y., Clarence), were recognized. 

Lyons and Marquis were named Academic All-District® for the second-straight year. This is the first Academic All-District® selection for Albers, Demchak and Rook. 

Albers, a right-handed pitcher, owns a 3.53 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) while pursuing a bachelor's degree in strategic communications and social media. He has been named to the College's Dean's List in the fall of 2023 and 2025. Albers went 2-1 with one save and a 4.65 earned-run average (ERA) in 10 appearances. He ranked in the top five in the PAC in earned runs allowed and posted a career-high 10 strikeouts in a 3-0 win game two win over Grove City on March 24.

Demchak, an outfielder, carries a 3.66 cumulative GPA and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration. He has been named to the College's Dean's List four times and to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll twice. Demchak made 32 starts and hit .306 with four doubles, 15 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He was 7-of-9 on stolen base attempts and finished the year with nine multi-hit games.

A third baseman, Lyons maintains a 3.65 cumulative GPA while working towards a bachelor's degree in early childhood and special education. He is a two-time Dean's List selection and is a two-time PAC Academic Honor Roll designee. A First Team All-PAC selection last season, Lyons started 31 games and hit .280 with six doubles, 13 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He went 8-of-11 on stolen base attempts and had nine multi-hit games. 

Marquis, an outfielder, owns a 3.85 cumulative GPA while pursuing a bachelor's degree in business administration. He has earned Dean's List distinction five times and has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll twice. Marquis started 31 games this season and hit .288 with seven doubles, two triples, a pair of home runs, 15 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He went 14-of-16 in stolen base attempts and finished with 10 multi-hit games. 

Rook, a shortstop, carries a 3.98 cumulative GPA and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in broadcasting and sports communications. He has been named to the College's Dean's List three times and was named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll last spring. Rook was named First Team All-PAC on May 13. He made 38 starts this season and hit .338 with six doubles, 23 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He was 10-of-12 on stolen base attempts. Rook finished the year with 12 multi-hit games, including a five-hit effort against Immaculata on March 11. He had an 11-game hitting streak between April 8-25. 

Westminster closed the season with a 28-12 overall record, matching the program's single-season wins record, and finished 17-5 in the PAC. The Titans secured the No. 1 seed in the PAC Championship Tournament before their postseason run came to an end with losses to No. 6 Chatham and No. 5 Grove City.
