Four named Academic All-District®

GREENWOOD, Ind.--Four members of the Westminster softball program were recognized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District® honors Monday afternoon.

Rising seniors Faith Jones (Volant, Pa., Wilmington) and Ava Karpa (Coraopolis, Pa., Moon), along with rising juniors Sam Levac (Oakville, Ontario, Canada, Garth Webb) and Morgan O'Brien (Coraopolis, Pa., Our Lady of the Sacred Heart), were recognized.

This is Karpa's second-straight recognition and is the first for Jones, Levac and O'Brien.

Jones, a catcher, maintains a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) majoring in nursing. She was named to the College's Dean's List and Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Academic Honor Roll in spring 2024. Jones was recognized as a PAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Scholar-Athlete of the Month for April and recently graduated from the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing. She will continue her coursework at Westminster to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The valedictorian of her graduating class, she was selected as a student speaker at the commencement ceremonies on April 23. A two-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-Region VII Second Team selection and two-time First Team All-PAC honoree, she hit .405 in 41 starts this year to go along with 18 doubles, a triple, 17 RBIs and 43 runs scored. Her 18 doubles led the PAC and rank No. 3 on program's single season list while her 43 runs scored are second-most in the PAC and are tied for fourth-most among the program's single season leaders. Jones had 15 multi-hit games, including a pair of four-hit games, and put together a career-best 16-game hitting streak earlier in the season. She was named to the PAC's All-Tournament Team for the second-straight year.

Karpa, a shortstop, carries a 3.80 cumulative GPA while majoring in English. She has been named to the College's Dean's List five times and has earned PAC Academic Honor Roll distinction twice. Karpa is a three-time All-PAC selection (1st team in 2026, 2nd team in 2024, 2025). In 42 starts she hit .405 with seven doubles, a home run, 28 RBIs and 17 runs scored. Karpa finished with 14 multi-hit games this year.

Levac, an outfielder, owns a 4.00 cumulative GPA while pursuing a double major in accounting and finance. She is a three-time Dean's List selection and was named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll last spring. Levac was named Honorable Mention All-PAC for the second-straight year. She finished the season hitting .365 with two doubles, a triple, 12 RBIs and 20 runs scored in 40 starts this season. She was successful on 11-of-12 stolen base attempts.

O'Brien, a second baseman, maintains a 4.00 cumulative GPA as a biology major. She is a three-time Dean's List selection and has been named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll three times. Named the PAC Player of the Year and First Team All-PAC on May 7, O'Brien was recognized as a NFCA First Team All-Region VII selection on May 15. She is Westminster's fourth PAC Player of the Year honoree, joining Mackenzie Latess (2024), Jazmyn Rohrer (2018) and Jennifer Pancake (2007). O'Brien hit a PAC-best .487 with 13 doubles, three triples, two home runs, 42 RBIs and 38 runs scored. Her 57 hits and 1.208 OPS were third-most in the league. O'Brien's 42 RBIs are tied for fourth-most on the program's single season list while her 57 hits are fifth-most among the program's single season leaders. O'Brien has 19 multi-hit games, including five three-hit games, and 11 multi-RBI games this season. She had a 14-game hitting streak from March 10-31. O'Brien was a PAC All-Tournament team selection and was named to the Jackson, Miss. Regional All-Tournament Team.
