5/11/2026 6:25:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS--The Westminster softball program, winners of three-straight Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) titles, will travel to Jackson, Miss. to face No. 9 Belhaven in the regional round of the Division III Championship Thursday.

The 64-team tournament field, consisting of two selection pools--42 designated automatic qualifiers (AQ) from conference champions and 22 at-large selections--was released Monday morning.

Westminster (30-9), the AQ from the PAC, will take on Belhaven (38-9), the AQ from the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS), Thursday at 12 p.m. (EDT) to open the four-team regional championship at McLeod Field. The regional field also includes Emory (25-12), an at-large selection from the University Athletic Association (UAA), and Berry (30-13), the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) champion.

Westminster scored a 4-0 victory over Geneva in the title game of the PAC Championship Tournament on May 4, earning the program's third-straight conference championship. The championship tournament's top seed, Westminster is the league's first to capture three-straight titles since Bethany won six straight from 1999-2005. This is the fourth 30-win season in program history. The PAC title is the fourth in program history. This is Westminster's third-straight appearance in the Division III Championship field.

Following last Monday's win, sophomore Cheyenne Piper (Latrobe, Pa., Ligonier Valley) was honored as the championship tournament's Most Outstanding Player for the second-straight year. She was joined on the all-tournament team by freshman Kylie Anthony (Harrison City, Pa., Penn-Trafford), junior Faith Jones (Volant, Pa., Wilmington) and sophomore Morgan O'Brien (Coraopolis, Pa., Our Lady of the Sacred Heart).

On May 7, O'Brien was named Player of the Year, Piper earned her second-straight Pitcher of the Year award and Anthony won Newcomer of the Year. Thirtieth-year head coach Jan Reddinger was voted the Coach of the Year.

Additional tournament information, including game times and ticket details, will be announced on blazers.belhaven.edu as it becomes available.
