Women's lacrosse wins at Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa.--The Westminster women's lacrosse team beat Allegheny 19-3 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game Saturday afternoon on the Robertson Blue Turf. 

Westminster improved to 8-6 overall and 5-2 in the PAC. Allegheny fell to 3-8-1 overall and 2-4 in the PAC. 

Seniors Chloe Courinos (Beaver Falls, Pa., Blackhawk) and Julia Ravazza (Twain Harte, Calif., Dublin) each finished with six points. Courinos had one goal and five assists while Ravazza totaled five goals and one assist. Senior Michaela Neelin (Henrietta, N.Y., Rush Henrietta) finished with three goals, a pair of assists, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and four draw controls. She hit 100 career points on Saturday.

Senior Isabella Cespedes (Merrick, N.Y., Sanford H. Calhoun) finished with six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Sophomore Keely Jackson (Chardon, Ohio, Chardon) and freshman Mady Warner (Concord Township, Ohio, Riverside) had three ground balls apiece. Jackson added two caused turnovers while Warner had one. 

Westminster oushot Allegheny 42-14 and had the advantage in shots on goal, 24-6. Westminster went 15-of-21 on clear attempts. 

Up next: 
Westminster hosts Bethany (7-7, 3-4 PAC) on Wednesday. The opening draw from the UPMC Sports Complex is scheduled for 5 p.m.
