Westminster men earn 5-1 PAC win over Waynesburg

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster men's tennis team earned a 5-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) decision over visiting Waynesburg Wednesday afternoon. 

Westminster took the doubles point, winning at No. 1 and No. 2. Sophomore William Nebiolo (Glenshaw, Pa., Shaler) and freshman Aydan Gross (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Mount Pleasant) won 6-3 over Ethan Clawson and Thomas Torcaso at first doubles while senior Colin Bork (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) and junior Hayden Kenny (Pittsburgh, Pa., Keystone Oaks) secured a 6-2 win over Noah Biser and Michael Pohuski at second doubles. 

Bork won 6-3, 6-3 over Gordon at No. 5 singles while Kenny prevailed 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4 against Puhuski. At the No. 2 spot, Gross won 7-5, 6-4 over Biser while Nebiolo picked up a 6-3, 7-5 victory against Norris at No. 3. The No. 6 match between graduate student Rick Ladjevich (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) and Zachary Johnson was unfinished due to severe weather warnings in the area. 

Up next:
Westminster wraps up its regular season schedule Friday at Grove City. Doubles matches will get underway at 4 p.m. inside the Walters-Zbell Tennis Courts.
