Westminster wins on Senior Recognition Day

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster men's tennis team secured a 5-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory against Thiel Saturday afternoon. 

Westminster won the doubles point as sophomore William Nebiolo (Glenshaw, Pa., Shaler) and freshman Aydan Gross (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Mount Pleasant ) defeated Tyrus Horton and Bret Vilage 6-2 at No. 1 doubles while seniors Colin Fabich (Erie, Pa., Harbor Creek) and Dunil Karunaratne (Johnstown, Pa., Westmont Hilltop) picked up a 6-2 No. 2 doubles win over Trey Grazier and Trenton McCoy

Nebiolo and Gross won at No. 5 and 6 singles, respectively, with forfeits to extend the lead to 3-0. At No. 3 singles, senior Colin Bork (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) locked in the team win with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Grazier. Graduate student Rick Ladjevich (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) won Westminster's fifth match at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over McCoy.

Bork, Ryan Crissman (Allison Park, Pa., Shaler), Fabich, Karunaratne and Ladjevich were honored after Saturday's match. 

Up next:
Westminster will travel to Brady's Run Park in Beaver Falls Monday to take on Geneva. The match is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m.
