Titans fall at Marymount

ARLINGTON, Va.--The Westminster women's lacrosse team was dealt a 19-4 loss by Marymount Wednesday afternoon at Long Bridge Park.

Marymount went into halftime leading 9-2. Jillian Blair and Tess Valentino had three goals apiece in the opening half. Down 12-3 after three, senior Julia Ravazza (Twain Harte, Calif., Dublin) scored her second of the game 40 seconds into the fourth. Marymount rattled off seven-straight goals to end the game.

Seniors Michaela Neelin (Henrietta, N.Y., Rush Henrietta) and Haley Wenzel (Coppell, Texas, Coppell) scored one goal apiece. Senior Isabella Cespedes (Merrick, N.Y., Sanford H. Calhoun) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Junior Falyn Snyder (Bel Air, Md., Bel Air) and freshman Meadow McDonald (Chardon, Ohio, Chardon) each played a half in net. Snyder, the starter, made four saves and allowed nine goals. McDonald made six saves and ceded 10 goals.

Valentino finished with eight points on six goals and a pair of assists. Blair totaled four goals and an assist.

Marymount outshot Westminster 40-19 and had a 23-7 edge in shots on goal.

Up next:
Westminster will travel to Chambersburg Saturday to take on Wilson (0-4). The opening draw from Kris's Meadow is scheduled for 1 p.m.
