Westminster falls to Ohio Wesleyan

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster women's lacrosse team was dealt an 11-6 loss by visiting Ohio Wesleyan Thursday afternoon at the UPMC Sports Complex. 

Thursday concluded Monday's opener, which was stopped due to inclement weather with 10:10 remaining the third quarter and the score tied 5-5.

Ohio Wesleyan (2-0) scored a pair of goals after the restart before senior Julia Ravazza (Twain Harte, Calif., Dublin) netted her fourth goal of the game with three seconds left in the quarter. Ohio Wesleyan scored four times in the fourth. Two of the Battling Bishops' goals were woman down scores. 

Ravazza totaled five points on four goals and an assist. Senior Isabella Cespedes (Merrick, N.Y., Sanford H. Calhoun) posted her 100th career caused turnover with 7:22 left in the first quarter. She finished the game with three ground balls and six caused turnovers. Junior Falyn Snyder (Bel Air, Md., Bel Air) totaled 14 saves and five ground balls. 

Up next:
Westminster (0-1) will travel to New Concord, Ohio Saturday to take on Muskingum (2-2). The opening draw from the North Athletic Turf Field is set for 1 p.m.
