Titans thump Geneva in regular season finale

BEAVER FALLS, Pa.--Graduate student DJ Harrell (Cleveland, Ohio, East Technical) led four double-figure scorers Saturday afternoon, helping Westminster secure a 91-62 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over rival Geneva inside Metheny Fieldhouse.

Westminster, winners of four straight and eight of its last 10, closed out the regular season with a 17-8 overall record. Its 12-4 league mark earned the No. 1 seed in the North Division in next week's PAC Championship Tournament.

Saturday was Harrell's 10th 20-point effort this season. He finished 7-of-14 from the floor. Senior Drew Weir (Salem, Ohio, Salem) totaled 15 points and seven rebounds. He was a perfect 6-of-6 from the field. Senior Trey DePietro (Boardman, Ohio, Boardman) and sophomore Trevor Siefke (Lisbon, Ohio, David Anderson) had 10 points apiece.

Tommy Coletti led Geneva (10-15, 7-9 PAC) with 20 points.

Westminster went into halftime leading by 21, 47-26. Harrell and Weir scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, in the first half. The Titans finished the first 20 minutes shooting 60 percent (18-30) from the floor and went 6-of-13 from behind the three-point line. After Coletti's layup with 5:22 to play cut the Titans' lead to 17, 76-59, Westminster ripped off 15-straight points to stretch its lead to 32, 91-59, capped by senior Jaxon Hendershott's (Salem, Ohio, West Branch) three-pointer with under a half-minute left. He finished with three made three-pointers.

The Titans shot a season-high 60 percent (33-55) from the floor Saturday and finished 12-of-25 (.480) from three-point range. It was their fifth game with a dozen or more made three-pointers.
