Women seventh after opening round of Kyle Campbell Memorial

MARSHALL, Mich.--The Westminster College women's golf team sits in seventh place after the opening round of the University of Olivet's Kyle Campbell Memorial Tournament Friday.

The two-day event is being held at the Medalist Golf Club, a links-style course situated on 300 acres of rolling wooded land and wetlands in South Central Michigan.

Westminster fired an opening-round 345. The Titans shot a 339 on the first day of the Campbell Memorial last fall after turning in a 345 in 2023. Kalamazoo leads the 16-team field after posting an opening-round 329. Albion's Marissa Genske shot a five-over 77 and teammate Anna Schaibly carded a six-over 78 to headline the 96-player field.

Sophomore Ava Liburdi (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) is in a three-way tie for 17th after Friday's 84. Junior Katie Rose Rankin (Sewickley, Pa., North Allegheny) is one of five players tied for 20th after carding an 85. Senior Alyssa Rapp (Poland, Ohio, Cardinal Mooney) is in a six-way tie for 25th after her opening-round 86. Freshman CeCe Morgan (Fairview, Pa., Cathedral Prep.) is in a four-way tie for 40th after shooting a 90 on Friday while classmate Brooke Hart (Meadville, Pa., Meadville) is in a three-way tie for 69th (98).

Senior Olivia Kana (North Huntingdon, Pa., Greensburg Central Catholic) and freshman Madey Myers (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) are competing as individuals. Kana is in a five-way tie for 57th (94) while Myers is tied for 67th (97).

Saturday's second round is scheduled to get underway at 8:30 a.m.
