Women's tennis falls on Senior Recognition Day

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's tennis team was dealt a 5-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss by visiting Geneva Friday afternoon. 

Westminster fell to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in the league play. Geneva improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the PAC. 

Geneva secured the doubles point with wins at all three positions. 

Freshman Megan Blasko (Mercer, Pa., Pennsylvania Cyber Charter) earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over Rachel Hodsden while senior Grace Askey (Dubois, Pa., Jeff Tech) prevailed 6-2, 6-1 over CeJaelyn Perednia at No. 4 singles.

Westminster's three seniors were honored Friday: Askey, Emily Klaus (Warren, Ohio, Warren JFK) and Christine Rossi (Jefferson Hills, Pa., Thomas Jefferson).

Westminster travels to Erie Monday to take on Penn State Behrend. The match is scheduled to get underway at 4:30 p.m.
