Men's tennis edged at W&J

WASHINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's tennis program was dealt a 4-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss to Washington & Jefferson College Wednesday afternoon at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center. 

Westminster's record fell to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play. W&J improved to 4-6 overall and 2-0 in the PAC. 

Westminster scored the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles, respectively. Senior Dylan Weiss (South Park, Pa., South Park) and freshman William Nebiolo (Glenshaw, Pa., Shaler) won 6-4 at No. 1 doubles over Nick Kubik and Jackson Akers. Junior Hayden Kenny (Pittsburgh, Pa., Keystone Oaks) and sophomore Hayne Webster (Wellsboro, Pa., Wellsboro) beat Nate Clarke and Alex Duing at No. 3 doubles 6-3.

In singles action, junior Ryan Crissman (Allison Park, Pa., Shaler) battled to get the win at the No. 1 spot, defeating Kubik 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 10-7. Nebiolo won at No. 3 singles over Abhinav Yarramaneni 6-1, 3-6, 10-4 at No. 3.
