Westminster falls 1-0 at Chatham

PITTSBURGH--The Westminster College women's soccer team came up short against Chatham Tuesday evening at UPMC Graham Field, conceding the match's only goal in the 82nd minute. 

Westminster fell to 1-7-3 overall and 1-3-1 in the PAC. Tuesday was the program's fourth 1-0 loss this season. 

Chatham's Ainsley Smith broke the scoreless deadlock with just under nine minutes remaining, scoring off a Halle Marsalis assist. 

Senior Morgan Murphy (Yardley, Pa., Villa Joseph Marie) finished with four saves. The shutout was Kyanni Escudero's third this season.  

Chatham (7-3-2, 4-1 PAC) outshot Westminster 11-3 and had a 5-0 advantage in shots on goal. Chatham took seven corner kicks. Westminster took three.

Westminster hosts PAC rival Grove City Friday at the UPMC Sports Complex. The match is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 p.m.
