The Titans jumped out to a 2-0 lead with 25-19 wins in the first and second sets. Ferringer had five first set kills while senior right side Elise Jordan (Key Largo, Fla.) came through with three kills in both the first and second. Knotted at 13-13 in the third, Heidelberg, fueled by a 7-3 scoring run, went up four, 20-16, and scored the final five points to claim the 25-17 win in the third. Trailing 16-9 in the fourth, Westminster stormed back with a 5-0 run to get to within two. Heidelberg outscored Westminster 8-2 down the stretch to force the pivotal fifth set. Tied 7-7 in the fifth, Heidelberg went up 12-9 before a Rambo kill cut the deficit to one, 12-11. Back-to-back attack errors by Heidelberg allowed Westminster to sneak back to within one late, 14-13, but a Grace Porter kill ended the match.

It was Heidelberg's sixth five-set match this season (3-3) and its second of the day after defeating Hanover College in the opener. It was just the second five-set match for Westminster (0-2) this season.
