Game 1: Waynesburg 8, Westminster 5
Westminster scored three times in the sixth to forge a 5-all tie. The first six batters of the inning reached safely. Freshman shortstop Parker Lyons (Rochester, Pa., Rochester) singled to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a single by junior left fielder Chris Davis (San Francisco, Calif., Stuart Hall). Senior center fielder Matthew Randza (Beaver Falls, Pa., Blackhawk) and senior second baseman Logan Murgenovich (Aliquippa, Pa., Central Valley) drew back-to-back walks, with Lyons scoring on Murgenovich's base on balls. Senior first baseman Jake Dockum (Fairport, N.Y., Allendale Columbia) and fifth-year right fielder Carter Chinn (Grove City, Pa., Grove City) were hit by pitches in back-to-back at-bats, driving in Davis and Randza to tie the game at 5-5.

Waynesburg scored a pair of runs on a two-base throwing error in the seventh and added another on Garrett Comer's RBI base hit in the eighth.

Seth Burgdolt paced the Jackets offensively, going 4-for-5 with a walk, a home run, two RBIs, three runs scored and a stolen base. Comer went 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Mike McCready earned the victory in relief of starter Dalton Lucy, who went five innings and allowed five runs (4 earned) on six hits with five walks and seven strikeouts in the no decision. McCready allowed just one hit with a walk and three strikeouts over the final two innings to improve to 2-0 this season.

Lyons went 3-for-5 with and RBI and a run scored. It was the first three-hit game and the first RBI of his career. Davis finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. Sophomore right-hander Alexzander Fasulkey (Oakdale, Pa., Chartiers Valley) suffered the game one loss, allowing two runs (0 earned) with three walks and a strikeout in two-thirds of an inning. Junior righty Ryan Gibbons (Ellwood City, Pa., Lincoln) picked up the no-decision, allowing five runs on 11 hits with three walks and three strikeouts in six innings.

Game 2: Waynesburg 11, Westminster 3
Chinn's two-run double in the first inning staked the Titans to an early 2-0 lead. Waynesburg responded with three-run innings in the second, third and eighth to lead 9-2. Freshman catcher Braden Zeigler (New Castle, Pa., Shenango) followed up senior third baseman Donald Shimko's (Greensburg, Pa., Greater Latrobe) base hit with a two-out RBI double in the eighth. It was his first career extra-base hit. Lane Ours smacked a two-out, two-run double in the ninth for the Jackets.
