Titans roll in PAC win over Bison on Senior Day

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's lacrosse program scored a 29-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over Bethany College on Senior Recognition Day Saturday afternoon at the UPMC Sports Complex. 

Westminster improved to 10-5 overall and 5-2 in PAC play. Bethany fell to 5-10 overall and 0-6 in the league. 

Senior midfielder Kellen Frazer (Eugene, Ore., Oak Hill) finished with six goals, three assists and three ground balls. His six goals and three helpers were both career highs. Senior attack Payton Waight (Ithaca, N.Y., Ithaca) had a goal to go along with a career-high eight assists, two ground balls and one caused turnover. Senior midfielder Jimmy Sentz (Catonsville, Md., Loyola Blakefield) finished with four goals, three assists and two ground balls. Junior midfielder Gavin Jones (Henrico, Va., Douglas S. Freeman) totaled three goals, four assists, seven ground balls and two caused turnovers while junior midfielder Jonas Clark (Montgomery Village, Md., Watkins Mill) had four goals, three assists and five ground balls. 

Senior Colin O'Malley (Pittsburgh, Pa., North Allegheny) went 17-for-23 from the faceoff X, eclipsing 1,000 career faceoffs taken. He added nine ground balls and one caused turnover. Senior Dino Mario D'Alesio II (Youngstown, Ohio, Cardinal Mooney) went 7-for-12 from the faceoff dot and added one goal and six ground balls. Junior defender David Evangelista (Pittsburgh, Pa., Chartiers Valley) had two ground balls and caused a career-high five turnovers. 

Senior goalkeepers Corbin Liang (Grand Prairie, Texas, Oakridge) and Bradley Green (Landisville, Pa., Hempfield) split time in net. Liang secured his first career win with one save in 30 minutes. Green totaled six saves in the second half. 

Westminster finished the first period with a 9-1 lead and led 14-2 at halftime. Westminster scored 10-straight in the third quarter and outscored Bethany 5-1 in the fourth quarter. 

Westminster outshot Bethany 79-22 and had a 45-10 advantage in shots on goal. Westminster went 21-of-22 on clear attempts. 

Westminster is set to host Grove City College Wednesday. The opening faceoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
