NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Westminster College freshman Emma Overlingas (Pittsburgh, Pa., Baldwin) went 2-0 in Thursday afternoon's 5-4 non-conference loss to visiting University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
Westminster fell to 10-6 while Pitt-Greensburg pushed its season record to 12-2.
The Titans earned wins in two of three doubles matches. Overlingas and junior Taylor Dlugozima (Volant, Pa., Wilmington) got things going with an 8-5 victory over Devon Ulmer and Mariah Ulery at No. 3. The duo's record is 12-2 this season. Junior Gia Francisco (Canfield, Ohio, Canfield) and sophomore Christine Rossi (Jefferson Hills, Pa., Thomas Jefferson) recorded an 8-4 decision over Emily Ruhlman and Eden Richey at No. 1.
Overlingas won her 15th singles match this season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Ulmer at the No. 5 slot. Sophomore Grace Askey (Dubois, Pa., Jeff Tech) had a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles over Mariah Ulery.
Westminster is scheduled to host Clarion University Tuesday, April 9. The start time for this match is 4 p.m.
