Westminster falls to Franciscan

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) decision to visiting Franciscan University Monday afternoon.

Franciscan improved to 3-7 overall and 1-0 in the league this season. Monday was Westminster's first match of the year. 

Franciscan opened up a 3-0 lead after doubles competition. Sophomore Collin Fabich (Erie, Pa., Harbor Creek) secured Westminster's only victory in singles play, defeating John Palladino 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 at the No. 6 position. It is Fabich's first singles win of his collegiate career. 

Westminster's next match is Wednesday at Grove City College. The match is set to begin at 4 p.m. at the Walters-Zbell Tennis Courts.
