NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's basketball program suffered a 72-60 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss to visiting Waynesburg University Monday afternoon at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

Waynesburg improved to 4-6 overall an evened its league record at 3-3. Westminster has now dropped six-straight games to fall to 2-7 overall and 0-5 in PAC play. Monday was Waynesburg's first victory in New Wilmington since it earned an 81-75 decision on Dec. 5, 2018.

Junior guard Jaxon Hendershott (Salem, Ohio, West Branch) led three in double figures, tying his career high with 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting. He finished 5-of-9 from three-point range. Junior guard Drew Weir (Salem, Ohio, Salem) finished with his second-straight double-double after posting 19 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard Mick Hergenrother (Canfield, Ohio, Cardinal Mooney) added 11 points and three boards.

Keesee added six rebounds, three assists and three steals. PJ Suggs finished with 18 points and six rebounds while Rayshod Hooper chipped in with seven points and 12 rebounds in 22 reserve minutes.

Westminster missed its first nine field goals and trailed Waynesburg 19-0 eight minutes into the opening half. Weir split a pair of free throws with 11:20 left in the first for Westminster's first point of the fray. The Jackets went into halftime leading 35-21. Keesee had 13 of his 23 in the first.

Down 10, 43-33, with just over 15 minutes left, back-to-back three-pointers by Hendershott and sophomore guard Brady DePietro (Boardman, Ohio, Boardman) followed by four quick points from Weir cut the deficit to just two, 45-43, with 12:21 remaining. A game-turning 7-0 scoring run midway through the half pushed the Jackets' lead to 12, 60-48, with just over seven to play. Hooper had five points during the spurt.

Waynesburg had a 51-34 advantage on the glass, including a 17-10 in offensive boards. The Jackets shot 40 percent (26-65) from the floor, hit 7-of-22 (.318) three-point field goals and connected on 76.5 percent (13-17) of their free throw attempts.
