Ohm's brace secures Westminster's 2-1 win

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Senior forward Lydia Ohm (Pittsburgh, Pa., North Hills) scored a pair of goals for the Westminster College women's soccer program in its 2-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory Tuesday night against Chatham University at the UPMC Sports Complex.

Westminster evened its overall record at 5-5 while improving to 4-0 in league play. It was the Titans' fourth-straight win over the Cougars, who fell to 6-6-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the PAC.

Ohm struck for her first goal in the 18th minute, scoring off an assist from senior forward Allie Augustine (Cortland, Ohio, Lakeview)

In the 33rd minute, Ainsley Smith evened the match with her fifth score of the season.

Ohm's game-winner came in the 76th minute off of senior midfielder Mackenzie Powell's (Harrison City, Pa., Penn-Trafford) assist. It was her fourth goal this season and her first two-score outing since Westminster's 5-1 victory at La Roche University on Sept. 10, 2021.

Junior Morgan Murphy (Yardley, Pa., Villa Joseph Marie) stopped four shots in the win, improving to 5-5 in net.

Chatham outshot Westminster 11-10 and had a 5-3 edge in shots on goal. Westminster had the only three corner kicks of the night.

Friday, Westminster will travel to Grove City College's Don Lyle Field for a 4:30 p.m. match.
