Ohm, Horvath score in draw at Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa.--Senior forwards Lydia Ohm (Pittsburgh, Pa., North Hills) and Brooke Horvath (Murrysville, Pa., Franklin Regional) scored for the Westminster College women's soccer program in Friday evening's 2-2 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) draw at Grove City College's Don Lyle Field.

Westminster is now 5-5-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the PAC. Grove City sits at 7-3-2 overall and 4-0-2 in the league. Friday was Westminster's only draw this season and first since Nov. 2, 2022, a 1-1 tie with No. 4 Chatham University in the semifinal round of the PAC Championship Tournament. Westminster, the No. 1 seed, won the shootout 4-2 before defeating No. 2 Franciscan University 2-0 in the title match.

Ohm struck in the third minute for the Titans, scoring for a fifth time in the last five matches. Grove City's Emma Herrmann evened the match after cashing in on a penalty kick in the 45th minute. The goal was her 15th this year. It was the first penalty kick awarded against Westminster this season.

Horvath netted her fifth goal of the season in the 61st minute to give the visitors a 2-1 lead. It was her first since a four-goal outing in Westminster's 5-1 season-opening victory over Juniata College on Aug. 31. Natalie Merrick scored off a Britta Lagerquist assist in the 88th minute to tie the match at 2-2.

Grove City finished with a 19-18 edge in shots while Westminster totaled nine shots on goal to the Wolverines' seven. Westminster held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks. Twenty total fouls were whistled (10 each team) and four yellow cards were issued (3-Westminster, 1-Grove City).

Junior Morgan Murphy (Yardley, Pa., Villa Joseph Marie) had five saves for Westminster.
