Westminster tops Chatham 2-0

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's soccer program scored a pair of first half goals to earn a 2-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) shutout Tuesday evening at the UPMC Sports Complex. 

Westminster snapped a three-match losing streak, improving to 4-5-2 overall and 1-3 in the league. Chatham fell to 4-4-4 overall and 2-1-2 in conference action. 

Senior forward Brady Robison (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) struck first, scoring off freshman forward Santiago Fernandez's (Lake City, Fla., Freedom) terrific assist in the 26th minute. The goal was Robison's fourth this season. Sophomore midfielder Rosh Lemuel Talla Defo (Parkville, Md., Loch Raven) scored his first goal of the year off senior forward Connor Schmidt's (Evans City, Pa., Seneca Valley) free kick in the 33rd minute. It was Schmidt's fourth assist. 

Sophomore Aaron Snyder (Hatboro, Pa., Upper Moreland) posted his second shutout of the year, finishing with a season-high seven saves. 

Chatham finished the match outshooting Westminster 15-14. Both teams totaled seven shots on goal. Chatham also finished with a 6-2 edge in corner kicks, attempting four in the second half. 

Friday, Westminster will travel to Grove City College's Don Lyle Field for a 7 p.m. match.
