Titans claim top seed in PAC Championship Tournament

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Senior forward Brooke Horvath (Murrysville, Pa., Franklin Regional) eclipsed 100 career points Wednesday with three goals and an assist in Westminster College's 6-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over Washington & Jefferson College at the UPMC Sports Complex.

Horvath's first goal was assisted by senior forward Lydia Ohm (Pittsburgh, Pa., North Hills). Ohm struck for back-to-back scores in the 13th and the 27th minute, respectively. Her first was assisted by Horvath. The second goal was Ohm's 10th this season.

Leading 3-0 at the half, Horvath netted her second score in the 57th minute. Sydney Hoover got W&J on the board with a goal in the in 58th minute.

Horvath registered her third in the 65th minute and junior midfielder Emma Maloberti (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) closed out the scoring with a goal in the 82nd minute. It was her first goal this year.

Through 68 career matches (64 starts), Horvath has totaled 105 points on 39 goals and 27 assists.

Senior Lauren Gross (Lewisburg, Pa., Lewisburg) and sophomore Emily Codere (Shelton, Conn., Shelton) split time in the net. Gross got the start and worked the first 55 minutes. Codere allowed one goal and made a pair of saves in the final 35 minutes.
