Westminster suffers loss to W&J

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's soccer program suffered a 1-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) lost to visiting Washington & Jefferson College Wednesday night at the UPMC Sports Complex. 

Westminster concluded its season 5-9-3 overall and 2-7-1 in the PAC. W&J improved its overall record to 7-10-1 and its conference record to 4-5-1. The Presidents locked up the No. 6 seed in the league's championship tournament with Wednesday's win. 

The lone goal of the match came from W&J's Jimmy Gogol in the 75th minute. Graeme Ewart secured a shutout win, finishing with three saves. 

Senior forwards Lucas Toohey (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Mount Pleasant) and Brady Robison (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory), along with senior defender Joshua Glaser (Indiana, Pa., Indiana), all had shots on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Aaron Snyder (Hatboro, Pa., Upper Moreland) made three saves in the loss. 

W&J outshot Westminster 12-8 and had the edge in shots on goal (4-3). W&J had eight corner kicks to Westminster's three. The Presidents had two players receive yellow cards.
