Titans 5th at Thiel

GREENVILLE, Pa.--The Westminster College men's cross country team finished in fifth place Friday afternoon at Thiel's Tomcat Rumble.

The eight-kilometer event was run at the Greenville Municipal Airport in Mercer County.

Saint Vincent won the event with 56 points, edging Washington & Jefferson (60). Franciscan was third (68) and Waynesburg was fourth (75). Westminster totaled 129 points to finish fifth.

Thiel's Matt Beuermann won the individual title with a time of 27 minutes, 22.44 seconds.

Junior Dane Fasick (New Brighton, Pa., New Brighton) was 13th with a time of 29:11.61. Sophomore Justin Redilla (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) finished 25th (30:19.83) while freshman Dennis Jones (West Middlesex, Pa., West Middlesex) was 32nd (31:26.17).

Freshman Dalton Koehler (Chardon, Ohio, Fairport Harding) was 41st (32:38.82) and senior Caden Harsh (Pittsburgh, Pa., Baldwin) was 42nd (32:41.59).

Westminster will compete in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Schenley Park. The men's race starts at 10 a.m.
