Westminster men participate in annual Fisher Invitational

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster men's cross country team participated in its annual season-opening Fisher Invitational Friday night. 

The five-kilometer event was hosted on Westminster's Lake Brittain course, with competitors navigating a picturesque route that winds around the College's signature 100-acre lake.

Geneva won the four-team field with a score of 25 points. Grove City sophomore Colsen Frank topped the 75-runner field with a finishing time of 16 minutes, 16.00 seconds. 

Sophomore Nick Bender (New Castle, Pa., Neshannock) placed 18th with a time of 17:24.49. Sophomore Phil Silvis (Harmony, Pa., Seneca Valley) was 38th (18:10.28) and senior Dalton Koehler (Chardon, Ohio, Fairport Harding) was 58th (19:44.56). Sophomore Dillon Brunner (Pittsburgh, Pa., Upper Saint Clair) was 67th (20:33.83). 

Up next:
Westminster will travel to Penn State Behrend's Twilight Invitational on Friday, Sept. 18. The five-mile event is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m.
