Late goal sinks Westminster in loss to Grove City

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Westminster College suffered a 1-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss to visiting Grove City College Wednesday night at the UPMC Sports Complex. 

Westminster, ranked No. 3 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Region VII rankings, fell to 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the PAC. Grove City pushed its record to 5-3-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the league. 

Grove City's Anna Jenkins broke a scoreless tied in the 77th minute when her corner kick ended in Westminster's net. 

Westminster outshot Grove City 12-11 and finished with an 8-5 edge in shots on goal. Grove City had two corner kicks while Westminster had just one. 

Sophomore Morgan Murphy (Yardley, Pa., Villa Joseph Marie) made four saves for Westminster. Courtney Lisman made eight saves in the shutout for Grove City. 

Westminster will travel to Chatham Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. start at UPMC Graham Field.
