Titans lose early lead, fall to Allegheny

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- The Westminster College men's soccer team was dealt a 2-1 loss by visiting Allegheny College in its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) home opener at the UPMC Sports Complex Saturday afternoon. 

Allegheny is now 2-5 overall and 1-1 in the PAC. Westminster is 3-3-3 overall and 0-2 in the league. 

Junior Mason Baldwin (Seven Fields, Pa., Seneca Valley) staked Westminster to a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. It was his first goal of the season. 

Trailing 1-0, Allegheny netted two goals in a five-minute span in the second. Henry Rosenberg scored in the 60th minute and Brady Napoleon scored on a penalty kick in the 65th minute. 

Graduate student Jad Jadallah (Canfield, Ohio, Canfield) finished with three saves. Caleb Kendra had eight saves for Allegheny.  

Allegheny had a 17-16 edge on shots while Westminster finished with 9-5 advantage in shots on goal. Allegheny took eight corner kicks while Westminster took three. 

Westminster returns to the UPMC Sports Complex Wednesday against Grove City College. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
