Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Titans score shutout in first win of season

KANE, Pa.--The Westminster College men's soccer team posted a 5-0 shutout victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Wednesday night. 

The match was played at Kane High School's Paul R. Miller Stadium.

Westminster moved its season record to 1-1-3. Pitt-Bradford fell to 0-4-1. Wednesday was Westminster's 14th-straight win over Pitt-Bradford.

Senior Antonio Ulizzi (Coraopolis, Pa., Montour) gave Westminster a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute, scoring off of an assist from graduate student Marc Esqueda (San Bruno, Calif., Junipero Serra). It was Ulizzi's first goal this season. 

Westminster carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Junior Lucas Toohey (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Mount Pleasant) registered the first brace of his career, scoring back-to-back goals in the 46th and 56th minutes. The goals were Toohey's first and second of the season. Junior Brendan Callahan (Bensalem, Pa., Bensalem) assisted on Toohey's first goal. Junior Brady Robison (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) assisted on Toohey's second. 

Robison pushed the Titans' lead to 4-0 with an unassisted goal in the 57th minute. It was his first score this season. Junior Joshua Glaser (Indiana, Pa., Indiana) scored his second goal of the year in the 58th minute to close out the scoring. 

Graduate student Jad Jadallah (Canfield, Ohio, Canfield) and freshman Aaron Snyder (Hatboro, Pa., Upper Moreland) combined for the shutout. Snyder made a pair of saves in the final 23 minutes. 

Westminster finished with a 27-5 edge in shots and a 19-2 advantage in shots on goal. Westminster had seven corner kicks to Pitt-Bradford's two. 

Westminster will host Heidelberg University Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the UPMC Sports Complex.
