Westminster victorious over Heidelberg

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.-- The Westminster men's soccer team notched a 4-0 victory over Heidelberg University Saturday afternoon at the UPMC Sports Complex. 

Westminster improved to 2-1-3 and Heidelberg dropped to 1-5.

Junior Joshua Glaser (Indiana, Pa., Indiana) scored a pair of goals on Saturday. He has a team-high four goals this season.  

Junior Dylan Weiss (South Park, Pa., South Park) and senior John Colella (New Galilee, Pa., Mohawk) each scored goals. 

Glaser's first goal, an unassisted score, came in the 41st minute. Colella scored off of an assist from junior Lucas Toohey (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Mount Pleasant) in the 48th minute. It was the goal of his career. Weiss registered an unassisted goal in the 69th minute while Glaser netted his second goal of the match in the 71st minute. 


Graduate student Jad Jadallah (Canfield, Ohio, Canfield) and freshman Aaron Snyder (Hatboro, Pa., Upper Moreland) split the shutout. Jadallah had two saves in 75 minutes while Snyder had a pair of stops in 15 minutes.   

Westminster owned a 25-7 advantage in shots and a 9-4 edge in shots on goal. Westminster totaled seven corner kicks to Heidelberg's five.

Westminster will travel to La Roche University Monday for a 4 p.m. kickoff at Baierl Athletic Complex.
