AUBURNDALE, Fla.--The Westminster College baseball team suffered a pair of losses to Dickinson College Friday at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. The Red Devils claimed a 3-1 game one win before posting a 19-3 victory in game two.
Dickinson improved to 10-3-1. Westminster is now 4-7 this season.
Westminster will conclude its seven-game Spring Break trip Saturday afternoon against Keuka College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Lake Myrtle Sports Park.
Dickinson 3, Westminster 1
Westminster took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Junior left fielder
Matthew Randza (Beaver Falls, Pa. | Blackhawk) led off the inning with a walk and moved into scoring position on a single by junior shortstop
Logan Murgenovich (Aliquippa, Pa. | Central Valley). Senior center fielder
Brandon Cooper (Oakdale, Pa. | West Allegheny) delivered a run-scoring single to right field that scored Randza.
After three scoreless innings, Dickinson's
Christian Kim blasted a two out, three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth.
Randza went 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Murgenovich finished 2-for-3 with a walk. Cooper went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Senior infielder
Frankie Manios (Warren, Ohio | Howland) delivered a pinch hit single in the sixth.
Junior starter
Kolton Banfi (Harrisville, Pa. | Franklin) took the loss and fell to 0-2 this season. He allowed three runs (3 earned) on five hits with eight strikeouts and a pair of walks. Sophomore
Dwight Parker (Youngstown, Ohio | Liberty) thew an inning of scoreless relief.

Dickinson 19, Westminster 3
The Red Devils scratched out four runs on four walks, two hit by pitches, two wild pitches and an error in the top of the first inning. Kim smacked a two-out RBI single in the second before sophomore third baseman
Braeden Campbell (Glenshaw, Pa. | Shaler) and junior second baseman
Donald Shimko (Greensburg, Pa. | Greater Latrobe) generated two runs on back-to-back base hits in the bottom half of the inning.
Dickinson turned three walks and three hit by pitches into a seven-run third inning. In the bottom of the frame Cooper belted a solo home run. It was his first of the season.
The Red Devils added two more runs in the fourth on one hit, two walks and two hit by pitches.
Chase Weller's three-run home run in the sixth sparked a four-run frame and pushed Dickinson's lead to 18-3. Weller's run-scoring single in the seventh closed out the scoring.
Sophomore starter
Wyatt Walker (Venetia, Pa. | Peters Township) suffered the loss, allowing five runs (3 earned) on one hit with four walks and a strikeout in 2.0 innings. Six Westminster pitchers participated against Dickinson. Senior
Robert King (New Castle, Pa. | Union) threw one scoreless inning of relief.
Dickinson finished with 14 hits. The 19 runs were a season high.
