Titan women defeated at Juniata

HUNTINGDON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's lacrosse team suffered a 19-2 loss at Juniata College Saturday afternoon to open the 2023 season. 

Juniors Nina Rascona (Somerset, Pa. | Somerset) and Samantha Reed (Zionsville, Pa. | Emmaus) each scored fourth quarter goals for the Titans. Senior Emiley Kushner (Cecil, Pa. | Canon-McMillan) totaled four ground balls, four caused turnovers and a draw control while senior Stephanie Cimini (Mars, Pa. | Mars) had five draw controls. 

Reed scored on a free position shot with 9:47 left in the fourth quarter. Rascona scored with just over two minutes remaining in the game. 

Senior Jaden Domaratz (Springdale, Pa., Springdale) stopped 18 shots in net. 

Eight players scored for Juniata. Peyton Goodrich and Kyndall Yeager had four goals apiece. 

Juniata led 7-0 after the first period and 12-0 at the half. 

Westminster will open its home schedule Wednesday against Marietta College. First draw is set for 5 p.m. at the UPMC Sports Complex.
