Titans fall at Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa.--The Westminster College men's basketball team dropped a 78-64 decision at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Saint Vincent Saturday night. 

Westminster fell to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in league play. Saint Vincent pushed its record to 4-0 and 2-0 in the PAC. 

Sophomore Quincy Jones (Youngstown, Ohio, Chaney) led three Westminster players in double figures, finishing with a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double. It was his second-straight game with at least 20 points. Senior Reese Leone (Beloit, Ohio, West Branch) had 18 points, five assists and two rebounds while senior Andrew Clark (New Middletown, Ohio, Springfield Local) finished with 17 points and nine boards.

Westminster finished shooting 50.0 percent (25-50) from the floor, but was just 13-of-25 (.520) from the free throw line. The Titans outrebounded the Bearcats 38-31. Saint Vincent scored 23 points off of 28 Westminster turnovers. 

Clark scored back-to-back buckets that capped a 6-0 run and gave the Titans a 31-27 lead with under three minutes left in the first. Westminster went into halftime up 34-30. Clark scored 13 of his 17 points in the first half. The Titans shot 50.0 percent (13-26) from the field in the first.

With under five minutes remaining in the second Jones' layup trimmed Saint Vincent's lead to two, 64-62. The Bearcats outscored the Titans 10-0 over the next three minutes to go by 12, 74-62. Saint Vincent went 5-of-6 from the free throw line during the stretch.

Dev Ostrowski led Saint Vincent with 28 points.
 
Westminster hosts Waynesburg Tuesday. Tipoff at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
