Westminster wins in straight sets at Franciscan

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio--The Westminster College women's volleyball team registered a straight-set victory Wednesday evening at Franciscan University to open its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) slate. 

Westminster improved to 11-6 overall. Ten of the program's 11 victories this season have been sweeps. Franciscan fell to 8-7. 

The Titans won 25-19, 25-14 and 25-20.

Westminster hit .230 while limiting Franciscan to .063 hitting. The Titans recorded 34 kills and had just eight attack errors.

Senior Natalie Franke (Centerville, Pa., Union City) paced Westminster with a season-high eight kills while hitting .300 on 20 attacks. She added three blocks and a pair of digs. Senior Lauren Lampus (Sarver, Pa., Freeport) had seven kills and 13 digs while sophomore Rachel Brady (Columbus, Pa., Corry) added six kills and three digs. 

Senior Reanna Daniels (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) totaled 14 assists, nine digs and a pair of service aces. Sophomore Angie Nardone (Ellwood City, Pa., Ellwood City) had and 11-assist, 12-dig double-double. 

Senior Malia Duffy (Allison Park, Pa., North Allegheny) posted 15 digs and seven assists while senior Claire Tobin (Battlecreek, Mich., Lakeview) added eight digs. 

Senior Saylee Grinnen (Wampum, Pa., Ellwood City) finished with four blocks and four kills. Junior Ava Ferringer (Venus, Pa., Cranberry) totaled three blocks, five kills and two digs. Sophomore Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) had three blocks and four kills.

Westminster will travel to Washington & Jefferson Friday. The opening serve at Salvitti Family Gymnasium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
