Titans fall at Franciscan

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio--The Westminster College men's soccer team suffered a 4-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) defeat at Franciscan Wednesday night.

Westminster fell to 3-6-3 overall and 0-5 in the PAC. Franciscan, last year's conference champion, improved to 8-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the PAC.

Franciscan's Lucas Cross scored back-to-back goals in the seventh and eighth minutes, respectively, to give the Barons an early 2-0 lead. Junior Brady Robison (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) halved Franciscan's lead in the 40th minute, scoring off of an assist from junior Isaac Krahn (Springfield, Va., South County). The assist was the first point of Krahn's career.

Franciscan led 2-1 at the half.

Down 3-1, junior Brendan Callahan (Bensalem, Pa., Bensalem) scored an unassisted goal in the 78th minute for the Titans to cut the deficit to one. It was Callahan's first goal of the year. Franciscan's Joseph St. George scored less than a minute and a half later to push the Barons' lead to 4-2. Freshman Orrin Milcic (Butler, Pa., Knoch) netted the first goal of his career in the 84th minute, scoring off of the assist from junior Lucas Toohey (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Mount Pleasant) and trimmed Franciscan's lead to 4-3.

Westminster outshot Franciscan 18-16 and finished with a 10-5 edge in shots on goal. Franciscan had five corner kicks to Westminster's four.

Westminster hosts rival Geneva on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the UPMC Sports Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
