Titans fall in three at Bethany

BETHANY, W.Va.--The Westminster College women's volleyball team lost in straight sets to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Bethany Saturday afternoon at Joe Kurey Memorial Court in Hummel Field House.

Bethany, winners of six straight, improved to 17-5 overall and 6-1 in the league. Westminster fell to 13-11 overall and 3-4 in the PAC.

The Bison earned 25-21 wins in sets one and two before securing a 25-18 third set victory.

Four Westminster players finished with six kills apiece. Sophomore Shelby Rambo (East Palestine, Ohio, Crestview) had six kills, two blocks and five digs. Senior Lauren Lampus (Sarver, Pa., Freeport) finished with six kills and nine digs while classmate Saylee Grinnen (Wampum, Pa., Ellwood City) added six kills, one block and a dig. Senior Natalie Franke (Centerville, Pa., Union City) hit .294 with six kills. 

Senior Reanna Daniels (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) finished with 17 assists, eight digs and a service ace while sophomore Angie Nardone (Ellwood City, Pa., Ellwood City) totaled 10 assists and seven digs. 

 Senior Malia Duffy (Allison Park, Pa., North Allegheny) had 18 digs. Classmate Claire Tobin (Battlecreek, Mich., Lakeview) added 10 digs. 

Bethany finished the match hitting .225. Olivia Koehler led the Bison with a 10-kill, 13-dig double-double. 

Westminster hosts Thiel Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.
