Titans drop PAC match to Presidents

WASHINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Washington & Jefferson Wednesday afternoon. 

Westminster fell to 12-3 overall and 6-2 in the conference. W&J improved to 9-2-4 overall and 4-1-3 in PAC play. It was the Presidents' first win over the Titans since 2018. 

Scoreless after 45 minutes, W&J's Sydney Hoover buried the game-winner in the 49th minute. 

Sophomore Morgan Murphy (Yardley, Pa., Villa Joseph Marie) totaled six saves. W&J's Abby Hipkins recorded her PAC-leading eighth shutout of the season. She made 11 saves Wednesday as W&J extended its shutout streak to four-straight matches. 

Westminster outshot W&J 25-11 and had the edge in shots on goal (11-7). Both teams had two corner kicks. 

Westminster will travel to Greenville, Pa. to continue PAC play against Thiel on Saturday. The start time at Alumni Stadium at Stoeber Field is scheduled for 12 p.m.
