NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--The Westminster College men's soccer team suffered a 5-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss to Waynesburg on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at the UPMC Sports Complex.

Westminster fell to 3-8-3 overall and 0-7 in the conference. Waynesburg improved to 8-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in PAC play.

Seniors Kai Haseyama (Encinitas, Calif., San Dieguito Academy), John Colella (New Galilee, Pa., Mohawk), Jacob Steinbeck (Windber, Pa., Windber) and Antonio Ulizzi (Coraopolis, Pa., Montour) were honored before the match.

Trailing 1-0 after Seth Massotti's score in the 24th minute, Steinbeck evened the match after scoring in the 26th minute off an assist from junior Connor Schmidt (Evans City, Pa., Seneca Valley). Sophomore Brady Robison (Hermitage, Pa., Hickory) gave Westminster a 2-1 lead with an unassisted goal in the 35th minute.

The goal was Steinbeck's first of the season. Robinson's score was his third this year.

Waynesburg's Alexander White and Alex Canestraro scored back-to-back goals in the 40th and 43th minutes, respectively, and the Yellow Jackets carried a 3-2 lead into halftime.

Zachary Johnson scored in the 60th minute and Samuel Hawkins scored three minutes later to up Waynesburg's lead to 5-2.

Haseyama netted the final goal of the match in the 65th minute off of a Schmidt assist. It was Haseyama's second goal this season and Schmidt's third assist.

Graduate student Jad Jadallah (Canfield, Ohio, Canfield) had four saves. His 232 career saves rank fourth among the program's all-time leaders.

Westminster outshot Waynesburg 21-13, while Waynesburg had the edge in shots on goal (9-8). Westminster finished with a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks.
