CLEVELAND--The Westminster College football team fell to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Case Western Reserve 31-6 Saturday afternoon at DiSanto Field.

Case Western Reserve improved to 5-1 (5-1 PAC) and recorded its fourth-straight win this season. Westminster, winners of back-to-back games entering Saturday's matchup, fell to 3-3 (3-3 PAC).

Westminster generated just 104 yards of total offense (53 rush, 51 pass) and were limited to five first downs. The Titans were 1-of-14 on third downs.

The Spartans held Ryan Gomes (Tampa, Fla., Walter L. Sickles) to a season-low 35 rushing yards.

Trailing 14-0 after a quarter, Taite Beachy (Moon Township, Pa., Moon) hauled in a 31-yard touchdown from Ty McGowan (Moon Township, Pa., Moon) with less than three minutes gone in the second. Beachy now has four touchdown grabs this season.

McGowan completed 9-of-24 passes for 53 yards, including the scoring strike to Beachy. He was intercepted twice and rushed seven times for 22 yards.

Joseph Rhodes V drilled a 33-yard field goal late in the second and the Spartans went into the break leading 17-6. Alex Fromberg connected with Gage Duesler on a 6-yard touchdown pass in the third before he scored on a 6-yard rush midway through the fourth quarter to close out the scoring.

Dylan Sleva (Moon Township, Pa., Moon) finished with nine tackles (6 solo). Carter Chinn (Grove City, Pa., Grove City) had seven tackles (1 solo) and a pair of quarterback hurries while Walt Phillips (Pembroke Pines, Fla., Champagnat Catholic) posted a career-high seven stops (3 solo) and a pair of pass breakups. Dayshawn Elliott (Kissimmee, Fla., Colonial) intercepted Fromberg in the third quarter. It was his second this season.

Fromberg accounted for four touchdowns, completing 20-of-37 passes for 203 yards with three touchdowns and an interception, while running for a game-high 77 yards and a score. The Spartans finished with 350 total yards, including 147 rushing yards.
