NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Avery Maxeiner's goal enabled Ohio Wesleyan University women's soccer team to edge host Westminster, 1-0, Sunday afternoon in the finale of the Westminster Soccer Tournament.

Westminster (1-1-1) outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 11-8, including a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.

Senior Julia Redilla (Cranberry Twp. Pa./Seneca Valley High), first-year Emma Maloberti, and sophomores Natalie Vilchek (West Newton, Pa./Yough High) and Brooke Horvath (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional High) had shots on goal for the Titans. But OWU goalkeeper Natalie Ryan recorded a handful of saves, one more than Westminster's first-year 'keeper Morgan Murphy.

Westminster welcomes LaRoche Friday at 7 p.m. in its next outing.
