Westminster draws with Chatham, 1-1

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.--Westminster sophomore Zoe Puhala (Brockway, Pa., Brockway) scored just over six minutes into the second half to help secure a 1-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) draw with Chatham Friday evening at the UPMC Sports Complex.

Westminster earned a point in the league standings with the tie, moving to 7-3-4 overall and 2-3-3 in the PAC. Friday was Chatham's first conference draw of the season. The Cougars moved to to 4-7-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the league.

Elizabeth Gallup gave Chatham a 1-0 lead after scoring in the fifth minute. It was her third goal of the year.

Puhala netted the equalizer for Westminster with a chip shot from 20 yards out in the 52nd minute. The goal came during a stretch in which the Titans recorded three shots and three corner kicks. It was Puhala's first goal since scoring in the 81st minute of a 1-1 draw with Allegheny on Oct. 15, 2025.

Westminster continued to create chances with corner kicks in the 57th minute and 60th minute and saved shots from sophomore Hailey McQueen (Sellersville, Pa., Faith Christian Academy) in the 59th and 70th minute.

The Titans finished with a 13-9 edge in shots and a 3-2 advantage in shots on goal. Westminster had six corner kicks to Chatham's three.
