NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Westminster College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference setback to Grove City College.
Thursday night at Buzz Ridl Gymnasium, the visiting Wolverines won, 25-6, 25-12, 25-12.
For Westminster (0-2 PAC, 2-15 overall), junior outside-hitter Lauren Lampus (Sarver, Pa./Freeport Area High) logged 5 kills, and junior middle-hitter Saylee Grinnell (Wampum, Pa./ Ellwood City-Lincoln High) and first-year performer Natalie Franke (Centerville, Pa./Uniontown High) evenly split another 6 kills. Also, junior setter Reanna Daniels (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory High) donated 10 assists, and junior Libero Malia Duffy (Allison Park, Pa./North Allegheny High), junior outside-hitter Macy Stoddard (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek High) and first-year outside-hitter Ella Stewart (Meadville, Pa./Meadville Area High) lent 11, 7 and 7 digs, respectively.
Faith Keating (10 kills, 9 digs), Gabby Lucas (14 digs), and Bella Costa (7 kills, 3 serving aces) paced Grove City (1-0, 9-7).
Westminster travels to Latrobe, Pa. to meet St. Vincent College in a PAC match Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
