LATROBE, Pa. – The Westminster men's tennis team lost, 7-2, at Saint Vincent for its first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss of the season on the road Wednesday.

"It was a little disappointing to be down 2-1 after doubles which carried over to a slow start in singles and we couldn't grab the momentum back," said head coach Jeff Layman. "We just need to learn to deal with adversity when facing it and we will."
 
First-year Ellian Ascencio (Venetia, PA / Peters Township) led Westminster (7-2, 2-1 PAC) with a win at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (6-0), over Brian Lee. Ascencio improved to 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
 
Ascencio also teamed up with junior Sam Scotford (Poland, OH / Poland Seminary) for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles over Lee and Josh Boland. The duo of Ascencio and Scotford improved to a perfect 3-0 at No. 1 doubles.
 
Saint Vincent improved to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in the PAC.
 
The Titans will look to get back in the win column on Thursday, April 14 at non-conference foe Allegheny.
