STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The Westminster women's basketball team outscored Franciscan, 21-10, in the fourth quarter to win, 61-45, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Saturday afternoon.
 
"Our response to their runs was very important," said head coach 
Rosanne Scott. "They played very hard on both ends of the floor so for us to keep our focus and grind it on the road was key."
 
Westminster (12-8, 9-4 PAC) held a 40-35 lead at the start of the final frame. The Titans scored eight of the first 10 points of the fourth quarter (48-37). Midway through the fourth, Westminster began a 11-1 run. The run started with a three-pointer by senior 
Magen Polczynski (Irwin, PA / Norwin) off a dish from junior 
Camden Hergenrother (Salem, OH / Cardinal Mooney). First-year 
Abbie Dickie (Clarksburg, PA / Saltsburg) finished the run with a layup. The Titans held Franciscan (0-17, 0-11 PAC) at bay to secure the victory.
 
In the first quarter, Westminster's defense held strong by only allowing six points. At intermission, the Titans led 32-18 off the momentum built by an 11-2 run in the second quarter.
 
Westminster was led by junior 
Natalie Murrio (Pittsburgh, PA / Brentwood), who scored a team-best 15 points to along with eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Classmate 
Lindsay Bell (Youngstown, OH / Ursuline) registered 12 points and a team-high nine boards. Polczynski tallied 12 points, three rebounds, and two steals. Sophomore 
Mariah Vincent (Franklin, PA / Kennedy Catholic) tied a career-best with nine points. First-year 
Alaina Moore (Weirton, WV / Madonna) chipped in with four points (tying a career-high) and a career- and game-high two blocks, followed by Dickie with a career-best two points.
 
The Titans are back in action Monday, February 7 as they host Chatham in a conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
