Bell posts 21 point, 17 rebound double-double in win at Waynesburg

WAYNESBURG, Pa.--Senior Lindsay Bell (Youngstown, Ohio | Ursuline) registered a 21 point, 17 rebound double-double in the Westminster College women's basketball team's 68-54 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory at Waynesburg Friday afternoon. 

Westminster (8-3, 4-2 PAC) had three players in double figures. Bell finished 10-of-16 from the floor. It was her third double-double this season. 

Senior Natalie Murrio (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Brentwood) totaled 18 points, six rebounds and six assists while junior Katie Fitzpatrick (Cumberland Center, Maine | Greely) added 12 points and eight boards. 

Westminster shot 42.2 percent (27-64) from the floor and finished with a 45-30 rebounding edge. Nineteen of Westminster's 45 rebounds were on the offensive end.

Murrio drained a pair of free throws with 4:16 to go in the second quarter to extend Westminster's lead to 12, 29-17. Westminster led 35-26 at the break. 

Sophomore Emily Hess (Edinboro, Pa. | General McLane) pushed the Titans' lead to 13, 49-36, with a layup with 2:50 left in the third. 

Westminster is back in action on Tuesday, January 3 against Geneva (2-9, 2-4 PAC). Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Ron Galbreath Court inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.
