Bell's 12-point, 20-rebound double-double powers Titans to win

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.--Senior Lindsay Bell (Youngstown, Ohio | Ursuline) led the Westminster College women's basketball team with a 12-point, 20-rebound double-double in Saturday's 57-50 victory over Spalding at the Cruzin Classic. 

Westminster is playing a pair of games at St. Thomas University's Fernandez Family Center this weekend. 

The 20 rebounds were a career high for Bell, surpassing her previous high of 19 in last year's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament semifinal win over Grove City. Saturday was Bell's second-straight double-double. 

Senior Natalie Murrio (Pittsburgh, Pa. | Brentwood) led three Westminster players in scoring with 22 points. She added nine rebounds and five assists. Murrio finished 7-of-8 from the free throw line.

Junior Mariah Vincent (Franklin, Pa. | Kennedy Catholic) chipped in with 10 points. 

Westminster (7-2) outrebounded Spalding (2-7) 46-26, which included an 18-7 edge on the offensive glass. The Titans shot 36.7 percent (22-60) from the floor.

Natalie Fichter paced Spalding with 22 points and seven boards. 

Trailing by five, 12-7, after the first quarter, Westminster outscored Spalding 19-8 in the second and held a 26-20 lead going into the half. 

Bell's layup with 24 seconds to go in the third quarter extended the Westminster lead to seven, 42-35, heading into the fourth. 

Westminster will take on No. 24 Messiah (8-2) Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
